I can say that the book does full justice to its stated objective of bringing together quality and latest research from different disciplines in an accessible manner. To me, it comes across as a one-stop resource to understand layered and complex knowledge related to monuments, particularly the six World Heritage Sites, and the three historic capital cities. I love the book’s reader-friendliness and the fact that it is very well structured. ‘How to Read the Book’ section clearly mentions what to expect while those like ‘Did you Know’ and ‘Key Insights’ quickly attract readers’ attention and use a very simple language to say profound things. It’s a delightful speed read. I will still give the book a 4/5 because I think coloured pictures (instead of existing black and white) could have increased the appeal of the book. He tried to connect many known facts and some missing links with a lucid language. This book is very carefully referenced and it helps the readers to get an imagery of the aspects that he has written in vivid details using many useful photos. The best thing about this book is that the author categorically stated at the beginning how should diverse types of reader may try to read this book.
